Business Woman

If you’ve heard any of this before, I’m here to tell you, don’t give up. Don’t delay the plans for your life. Start, pray and write your vision and make it Plain. God put his mission in you. Find those who will encourage you and point you toward growth, development, and prayer.

Your journey will not look exactly like someone else’s but there are encouragers that will come to get you through the difficult times.

I was asked recently, how did you know. Initially, I was unsure and afraid. I believed I lacked the knowledge and skills to take on the mission. I lacked the finances and a next steps manual. I did not lack motivation. I eventually found a mentor, and I was encouraged by some wonderful people even when the negativity seemed loudest.

I knew because God wouldn’t release me of the mission of @carriedtofullterm no matter how much I prayed and begged. I wrestled with it nightly for several years. I knew because it was in my heart, mind, and soul every minute of the day. This idea, mission, or ministry that had clutched my spirit and wouldn’t release until I surrendered, and that took six years.

Be encouraged dear friends! He who has called you to it, will provide.

Dressing Room Runway

December 1, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

I was trying on some slacks when I met a mommy and her two daughters. The girls were probably 10 and 12years old. They were very bashful about trying on the outfits their mom picked out.

I started a conversation with mom and the girls as we waited for a room to open up. I asked mom if I could say something to her girls and she said, go ahead. I told the girls one way to make trying on their clothes fun, is by having a fashion show in the fitting room. They bowed their heads and giggled with slight discomfort.

A short time later, two fitting rooms opened up. I chose one and mom and one of the girls chose the other. After trying on my first pair of slacks, my hubby asked me to come out so he could see the fit. One of the little girls still hadn’t gone in to try on her clothes and so I made the fitting room area my own personal runway fashion show. The girl giggled so hard she could barely contain herself. When her mom and her sister came off of their fitting room, I continued doing my pretend runway show.

This little girl looked at her mom and said she’d like to try some of her clothes and off she went with her mom. If my entire existence aside from being a wife, mom and friend was to make this little girl’s day. Then, I would happily strut all over again, barefoot and all.

P.S. I forgot to mention, both girls has naturally big, beautiful, curly hair!

Encourage Each Other

My friend, partner, and supporter. I thank God for the man you are and the passionate leader you are becoming. I adore your willingness to explore this new phase of life with many unknowns. I thank God for your quiet strength, youthful spirit, and constant smiling face.
Marriage is certainly not the easiest commitment I’ve made but it’s certainly a commitment to grow together in love, patience, understanding, and self-discovery.

Here’s to new adventures! Onward we go, together!

Visit Your Influencers

December 1, 2018 by admin Leave a Comment

Visit the people and events who influence you and your faith. A few years ago, I read the @thecirclemaker by @markbatterson. During that time I was in the first few years of wrestling with next steps decisions for my family and the vision of @carriedtofullterm.

The timing of the reading was impeccable! I needed the encouragement and wisdom to understand the power of prayer.

I was also inspired by Mark’s faith and the series of events that led to the acquisition of the property that is now Ebenezers Coffeehouse.
This morning, I visited the very Coffeehouse that inspired me and encouraged my prayer life.

It was awesome to walk through the doors of a business ministry with a mission to restore a community and to take care of the heart of people.
